Tube & Pipe Fair Sets Foot in South

As the city of Hyderabad is set to host the second edition of Tube & Pipe Fair, 2024, the Indian tube and pipe industry has so much to reflect and look forward to. Many have asked why not the much familiar Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru, for that matter. We started in Delhi with a conviction, and the response we received was extraordinary. This also convinced us to dive deep into the industry to find out what more could be done to help the industry realize its collective goal. The answer was to diversify the presence so that the industry could be better served. Thus the centrally located city of pearls turned out to be the best option, for it offers everything or more for less. What place could outbid this long-cherished amalgamation of its culinary fame, state-of-the-art infrastructure, including information technology, and the rich metropolitan ecosystem with close proximity to the tube and pipe manufacturing and application clusters. 

Over the years, the city of heritage has attracted substantial investment and created as well as attracted a large and diverse talent pool only to infuse energy and dynamism into the entire business ecosystem. This can be rightfully attributed to the city’s blend of advanced amenities and cost-effectiveness. Undoubtedly, today Hyderabad is positioned as a prime destination for founders and investors. It didn’t surprise so many of us when Microsoft announced the purchase of land worth Rs 267 crore in Hyderabad with plans to expand its data centre business in India. It’s further substantiated by the entire exhibition space being sold out and an overwhelming visitor registration, all two months before the event. This also underscores the significance of the venue as well as the industry sentiments. 

As we gear up for the Tube & Pipe Fair, 2024 South chapter, what has emerged is that more than a hundred brands will showcase their cutting edge technologies and latest innovations. The displays will be the manifestation of what products are in high demand and what are the game changer as well as the much-awaited solutions. Moreover, the convergence will also serve as a platform to exchange great ideas shared by the titans of the industry, and they will definitely be some of the best takeaways for industry watchers. What is interesting, though, is that all these point to the burgeoning state of the industry, and how it has impacted the allied sectors. 

However, the development has also put sustainability at centre stage. Understandably, this is the most pertinent fixation, displaying rising demand for greater accountability as well as better transparency. As the industry is energy-intensive, the fixation will remain and, with time, it will only rise, and soon we will have to align ourselves with the country’s carbon neutrality ambition. This, certainly, is also the right time to explore the aspects of carbon footprint in the supply chain and the implications of the EU’s carbon border adjustment mechanism. 

Considering these, what we can safely draw is that the relevance as well as the importance of Tube & Pipe Fair is set to grow. The reality, that the first edition had surpassed our expectations and the second edition has already outdone it, is a testament. Tube & Pipe Fair is our long-term commitment to the industry, and therefore to the nation. The simple and clear aim is to facilitate the industry in its growth story and be a part of the collective nation-building pursuit. Already on the trajectory of rapid growth, India is in need of enormous, but right, resources to further unlock its potential and achieve its economic growth which will ensure collective prosperity.
